Meet Dr. Ricky Huffines
He is part of a Nashville tradition of dental comfort and care. A dedicated native of Nashville, Dr. Huffines completed pre-professional studies at Belmont University and is a 1983 graduate of the University of Tennessee School of Dentistry.
Dr. Huffines has dedicated his professional career to providing you with the best that dentistry has to offer. He is continually educating himself and his staff on the newest dental techniques and approaches in order to offer you state-of-the-art, comfortable, antiseptic, and personalized dental care.
Dr. Huffines takes pride in patient education and emphasizing gum disease awareness. As part of his gum disease treatment options, he is one of the first dentists in Nashville to offer Laser Therapy (LANAP) with the PerioLase®. He has completed courses in Cosmetics, Evolutionary Hygiene, Orthodontics (including Invisalign and Six Month Smiles™), Implant Restoration and attended the Las Vegas Institute for Advanced Dental Studies.
In addition, Dr. Huffines is a member of the Academy of General Dentistry and the American Orthodontic Society. In July 2009, he received his Fellowship status in the Academy of General Dentistry, placing him in a prestigious group of dentists who understand that great smiles and good oral health for their patients are the result of going above and beyond basic requirements. In addition, he is a member of the Nashville Better Business Bureau and the Donelson-Hermitage Chamber of Commerce.
Dr. Huffines and his wife Amy have two children, Jennifer and Kelly. Jennifer & Tim Gipson live in Louisville, Ky & have 2 daughters, Maddie & Anna Kate. Kelly is in graduate school at UT Chattanooga.

Meet Our Wonderful Staff
Melissa
Melissa joined our team in December 2007 as our treatment coordinator. She has worked in the dental field for 17 years with both clinical and administrative skills. She enjoys assisting patients with insurance and treatment needs. She is excited to be a part of a team that believes in providing state of the art dental care. Once home, Melissa adores spending time with her husband, children, and their house full of animals.
Amy
Amy became a part of our team in November of 2006 as our Patient Coordinator. She has enjoyed working in the dental field for 11 years, both as an Assistant and also as a Treatment coordinator. She discovered that she truly enjoys discussing dental needs and treatment plans with patients. The light of her life is her 15 year old son. She spends her time watching him play football and cooking.
Gina
Gina is a Registered Dental Hygienist and a 1994 graduate of the Meharry Medical College and Tennessee State University. She has been practicing with Dr. Huffines for 15 years. She has an active 9 year old son and a very animated 6 year old daughter. In addition to her children’s many sports activities, she loves photography and burning calories at the gym.
Melissa
Melissa is a Registered Dental Hygienist and a 1992 graduate of the Meharry Medical College and Tennessee State University. She is a native Nashvillian and spends a lot of her time with her 16 year old niece and 14 year old nephew. Additionally, she takes pleasure in travel, gourmet cooking, and volunteer work. Melissa has been practicing with Dr. Huffines for 15 years.
Beth
Beth is a dental assistant and the newest addition to our dental team. She celebrated her 1 year anniversary with our office in august 2009. She completed her education in her hometown of Murfreesboro at the TN Technology Center, where she fell in love with dentistry. Everyday she strives to learn more and shows great enthusiasm for knowledge! When she’s not assisting you with your dental needs, she’s got her hands full taking care of her 4-month-old puppy Peanut.
Marl Ann
Marl Ann has been with our practice for 6 years and in the dental field for 26 years as a chair side assistant. She holds the highest standard of care both professionally and personally for all patients. She is originally from the small town of Smithville, TN but has lived in this area throughout her adult life. She is married with 2 wonderful children and 1 very high spirited grandson.
Renae
Renae has been assisting Dr. Huffines for 8 years. She relocated here from her hometown of Orlando, Florida in 2000. After she graduated from the Dental Assisting Program from Southern College in 1992, she has continued to use her knowledge in an environment she truly loves. She embraces learning new procedures that bring cutting edge technology to our patients. When not working, Renae enjoys reading, shopping with her daughter and going on dates with her husband.
